Commissioners learn about July building permits
ALBANY — Linn County issued 309 residential and commercial permits in July, Planning and Building Director Steve Wills told the Board of Commissioners Tuesday morning.
Wills said 74 of those permits required a plan review.
There were 40 permits for dwellings, four single-family units; seven manufactured homes and 22 permits for dwelling alterations.
There were seven commercial permits issued.
Wills said 13 new code enforcement cases were opened and 24 cases were closed.
There were 29 permits issued within contract cities including three for single-family homes and four permits for alterations.
There was one new fire hardening permit application in the North Canyon fire area.
In other business, the commissioners:
- Approved a contract with Diamond Pharmacy to provide five years of pharmacy services at the Linn County Jail.
- Approved a five-year contract with Saphire Health Services to provide electronic charting for health records at the Linn County Jail. Currently, medical charts are handwritten. There is a one-time set-up fee of $14,300, plus $8,300 per year.
- Amended a contract with the Oregon Youth Authority for the expungement of juvenile’s records upon their 18th birthday. The contract was changed from $101,425.80 to $208,213.10 and the ending date extended from January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2025.
- Approved a contract between the Road Department and the State of Oregon, Military Department and Office of Emergency Management that will allow Linn County to seek funds to offset costs associated with clean-up after the January 2024 ice storm.
- Approved closing a portion of Tangent Drive for the annual Tangent Harvest Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2024.
- Appointed Emma Deane to the Local Advisory Committee.
- Approved an application by Henry Wallace to amend a zoning map designation from Urban Growth Area — Urban Growth Management to UGA — Limited Industrial. The 1.4-acres is in Lebanon. The family owns a construction business and wants to build a shop on the property.
