Commissioners approve 3 LCSO requests

ALBANY — Linn County Commissioners Roger Nyquist, Sherrie Sprenger and Will Tucker made quick work of a light agenda Tuesday morning.

The commissioners approved an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Albany and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office that will allow the LCSO to use a water purification trailer owned by the city for emergency needs in other communities, according to Undersheriff Micah Smith.

The commissioners also approved temporary employment agreements with Dr. Blaine Rourke and Dr. Sean Prendergast to fill in for the regular jail doctor as needed.

In other business, the Commissioners:

  • Approved the purchase of a new Trailer Jet Sewer Cleaner from SWS Equipment for $132,051.81 for the Road Department.
  • Assigned three proxy votes to Commissioner Will Tucker for the Nov. 21 meeting of the Council of Forest Trust Land Counties.
  • Announced that the regularly scheduled Board meeting of Tuesday, Nov. 19, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
  • Announced there will not be a meeting the week of Nov. 25.
  • Announced that a Management Staff meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Courthouse basement meeting room.
